Putwall

The Pcdata Putwall is a specialized Put to Light solution designed to enhance sorting of single units to order locations. It is used for sorting batches of products that have been picked from various areas of a warehouse.
The Putwall station utilizes light-directed technology, where displays and/or LED strips indicate specific locations for placing items. Operators scan every item and place them in the indicated spots and confirm the action using displays such as the B6 or DIS6, which are equipped with multi-color LED push buttons.
Once an order has been completed light indicators show the packers that the order is ready for packing or any other subsequent process. These light indicators can be at the front or the back of the putwall.

Pcdata’s Putwalls are highly flexible and scalable, featuring both automatic and manual order location management. These systems are particularly effective for the order fulfillment of multi-line orders in operations with many SKU’s and small orders, typically like e-commerce and spare parts order fulfillment.

Our Putwall Solutions:

Single unit scan putwall

This is the most common putwall set up. Every unit from the batch needs to be scanned. A button Only displays (B6) light up to indicate where the product needs to be placed. The same B6 display can show at the front once an order is ready. Another option is to install B6 displays at the back side of the putwall where they also show which orders are ready. This option is a better solution in case the sorting and packing is done by different operators. DIS6 displays can also be installed at the back side to show an order is ready. They can show additional information like the number of units to pack.

Multi unit scan putwall

In general similar solution like the single unit scan putwall. The big difference is that not every unit needs to be scanned. One unit of every different product (SKU) needs to be scanned reducing the scanning activities significantly. This is only possible in case the product of a batch arrive organized at the putwall. All units of a specific product need to arrives together at the putwall, for instance by a pre-dispatch or any other organized batch picking activity. In these case there will be no B6 button only displays at every order location. DIS6 displays will be at every location as they also show the quantity of the products to be put to a location. This way all units of the same product can be sorted in one flow, like in other put to light solutions.

LED-strip Putwalls

Both single and multi unit putwals can be equipped by LED-strips. This is an optional feature for an extreme clear indication of where to put the products. In case a confirmation of the put or the pack needs to be done the LED-strips can be installed together with B6 or DIS6 displays. LED-strips can be used at the front and the back side of a putwall for supporting the putting or packing process.
